Compensation for Delay

AVE trains

  • Over 15 minutes: 50% refund.
  • Over 30 minutes: 100% refund.

Alvia, Euromed and AV City trains

  • Over 30 minutes: 50% refund.
  • Over 60 minutes: 100% refund.

On Talgo, Altaria, Intercity (LD) and Trenhotel

  • At least 60 minutes: 50% refund.
  • Over 90 minutes: 100% refund.

Media Distancia (Mid-Distance)

  • Over 15 minutes: 25% refund.
  • Over 30 minutes: 50% refund.
  • Over 60 minutes: 100% refund.

Regional Express and Regional

  • Over 30 minutes: 25% refund.
  • Over 45 minutes: 50% refund.
  • Over 60 minutes: 100% refund.

Avant Trains

  • Over 15 minutes: 50% refund.
  • Over 30 minutes: 100% refund.

Voluntary punctuality commitment for integrated tickets

The following compensations will be applicable for delays in the arrival time at the passenger's destination station:

Link for high-speed combinations (AVE+AVANT, AVANT+AVE and AVE+AVE):

  • After 15 minutes: 50% refund.
  • Over 30 minutes: 100% refund.

Link for combinations of all other products:

  • After 30 minutes: 50% refund.
  • Over 60 minutes: 100% refund.

The following compensation will be applied for tickets purchased with promotional fares (Promo and 4Mesa):

  • At least 60 minutes: 50% refund.
  • Over 90 minutes: 100% refund.

The Voluntary Punctuality Commitment does not encompass connections made with Cercanías trains, in which case any arrival delay at the destination will be covered as provided for in the Implementing Regulations of the Spanish Railway Sector Act.
