Changes

Any ticket issued through a centralised seat allocation system (with or without reserved seats) can be changed, unless there are any restrictions in the specific terms and conditions to which the ticket is subject.

The ticket to be changed must be within its period of validity and the change must be requested at a point that is linked to a centralised ticket sales system sufficiently in advance to be able to carry out the necessary procedures. The latest time for doing this is:

  • Five minutes before the train departure time from the station of departure shown on the ticket.
  • The date of the new requested ticket must be available for advance purchase.
  • If the ticket being changed has a validity period, the new ticket must be within that period.
  • The following financial conditions established for these procedures must be met:
    • Changes for the same day will be free, and for a different day the charge will be 10% of the ticket price, with a minimum charge of €1.
    • When the ticket is changed for a more expensive one, the difference will be paid, plus a charge if it is changed for another day.
    • When the ticket is changed for a ticket of lesser value, the difference will be reimbursed to the passenger, but the fee for the change will also be charged.

Cancellations

Any issued ticket can be cancelled in accordance with the terms and conditions set out below, depending on the type of ticket.

  1. Generally speaking, any ticket can be cancelled within the validity period. This must be requested sufficiently in advance to be able to carry out the necessary procedures, at the latest five minutes before the train departure time from the station of departure for the ticket being cancelled.
  2. When the ticket has been issued through a centralised seating system (with or without reserved seats) and this ticket is handed in to be cancelled at a point of sale that is not linked up to this system, the latest time to make the cancellation will be one hour before the train departure time from the station of departure for the ticket being cancelled.
  3. Multiviaje or Pass tickets can be cancelled prior to the start of their validity period and at the latest five minutes before the train departure time from the station of departure for the ticket being cancelled, in accordance with the terms and conditions established for each commercial product.

Passengers must request refund of Multiviaje or Pass tickets within one month from the cancellation date.

When cancelling a Título Multiviaje or a Pass, regardless of the date on which this takes place, 15% of the cancelled ticket will be retained as a cancellation fee.
