S-449 electric rail car

Interior layout and features for customers

Interior design

The train is accessed through doors located in the centre of each car, where they have a central vestibule with passenger lounges to either side. All cars have two lounges equipped with double seats for passengers on both sides of a central aisle. Part of the seats face each other and are separated by a fixed table, and the remainder have a pull-down tray. Luggage racks are installed above the seats, and there is bag storage next to the entry door for more voluminous luggage.

The seats are reclining and have pull-down armrests. The distance between seats is 950 mm. The width of a pair of seats is 1080 mm, and the width of the aisle is 550 mm. Each seat has a lamp for individual reading, and there is an outlet between the seats. The windows have manually activated, adjustable blinds.

The vehicles have emergency lighting and rescue lighting that are autonomous and independent from the train's main batteries for emergency situations. This lighting is completed by photoluminescent signs and indicators in the lounge and vestibules to indicate exit routes. Each vehicle has compact climate control equipment that is completed by floor-level heaters. The cabs have their own climate control unit.

The passenger information system provides public address functions, the automatic announcement of stations, piped music, etc., and incorporates the following:

  • An informative panel at the front of each cab and another on each exterior side, next to the access door.
  • TFT monitors in the passenger lounges for information and video entertainment.
  • Intercoms on all the vehicles, and a specific intercom at the PRM seat.
  • GSM-R and GPRS communications.

This system is completed by a video surveillance system with continuous recording.

Interior layout

The composition has 260 seats, which are distributed among 60 seats in end cars A1 and A2, 56 seats in A4 and A5 and a total of 28 in A3, plus a seat for persons with reduced mobility in a wheel chair and two folding seats.
