Extremedura Itinerary: Madrid - Seville (6 days - 5 nights) *


Day 1, Monday

Madrid-Aranjuez

Reception in Madrid at 10:30 am (*). While our staff is carrying your luggage to the train, we will visit Madrid in a guided tour around downtown. After lunch, a welcome toast on board, meeting of the crew and accommodation in your suites while heading for Aranjuez, Royal site of the Spanish Crown since the 16th century. Dinner and overnight in Aranjuez.

Day 2, Tuesday

Aranjuez-Toledo-Torrijos-Monfragüe

We will start our day, as every morning, enjoying a delicious breakfast à la carte and buffet. Then we will visit the magnificent Royal Palace of Aranjuez and its extense gardens. From there, by coach, we will approach Toledo, Imperial capital of the Visigoths and crossroads of cultures, declared World Heritage by UNESCO for lunch and guided tour of the main monuments. Once back in the train we will enjoy our dinner while travelling to Monfragüe. Overnight in Monfragüe.


Day 3, Wednesday

Monfragüe-Cáceres

After breakfast we will enjoy the morning in full nature visiting the Monfragüe National Park, the birds’ paradise, where more than 200 species of vertebrates are bred, plus many others that spend the winter or can be seen in transit during migration to other latitudes. We will be able to watch birds and receive explanations from our guides, equipped with powerful telescopes. After the excursion, we will have lunch on board and enjoy a rest. In the afternoon, visit to a hams dryer, with product tasting, and an Iberian pig farm. Dinner on board and overnight in Cáceres.


Day 4, Thursday

Cáceres-Mérida

We will start our day with a guided visit to the historic centre of Cáceres, where we will have lunch and some leisure time. Demonstration of Iberian ham carving and tasting on board the train before heading to Mérida. Dinner and overnight in Mérida.


Day 5, Friday

Mérida-Zafra

We will spend the morning discovering Mérida, the former roman city Emerita Augusta, and capital of Extremadura, where we will visit the National Museum of Roman Art, the Circus and the Theatre. After lunch, travel by train to enjoy a guided tour of the city and free time. Dinner. Overnight in Zafra.


Day 6, Saturday

Zafra-Sevilla

While tasting our last breakfast on board, the Tren Al Ándalus will bring us to Sevilla, the capital of Andalucía, where we will have a guided tour of its historic center, where monuments as the Cathedral, the Giralda, the Real Alcázar and the Archive of the Indies are notable. End of trip after lunch.

* On the day the trip begins, the access to the suite is not guaranteed until 18:00 h, although other services are already underway. On the last day of the trip, the suite must be left before 12:00 h, although all other services continue until later.
