Extremedura Itinerary: Seville – Madrid (6 days - 5 nights) *

Day 1, Monday


Rendezvous at Seville at 10:30 am (*). Luggage will be transferred to the train while we visit the capital of Andalusia, boasting the most extensive historic city center in Spain, home to the Gothic Cathedral, its bell tower named Giralda, the Royal Alcazar and the General Archive of the Indies. After lunch we will enjoy a panoramic view of the city before boarding the Tren Al Andalus. Welcome cocktail aboard, presentation of the crew and accommodation in the suites. Dinner on board while travelling to Zafra where we will spend the night.

Day 2, Tuesday


Just as every day, we begin the journey with a delicious buffet and a la carte breakfast. Tour of Zafra and lunch on board, while we travel with the Al Andalus train to Mérida, the Roman Emerita Augusta, capital of Extremadura, where we will visit the National Museum of Roman Art, the Amphitheatre and the Roman Theatre. Dinner and overnight in Mérida.

Day 3, Wednesday


Train trip to Cáceres, an impressive Roman-origin city with an almost intact historic city center listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Guided city tour followed by lunch and free time. Demonstration of Iberian ham carving and tasting on board the train while we travel to Monfragüe. Dinner on board and overnight in Monfragüe.

Day 4, Thursday


After breakfast to we will enjoy a morning in nature, visiting this the Monfragüe National Park, paradise for birds, home to over 200 species of vertebrates, and many more that winter or can be seen during migration to other latitudes. We can watch birds and receive explanations from our guides, equipped with powerful telescopes. Lunch on board the train and time to rest, before visiting a hams dryer, with a tasting of products, and an Iberian pig farm. Dinner on board, on the way to Torrijos station, where we will spend the night.

Day 5, Friday


Bus trip to Toledo, imperial and Visigoth capital listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visit the distinctive landmarks of the city before having lunch. Back at the train we will go to Aranjuez, the Royal Site of the Spanish Crown since the 16th century. Dinner. Overnight in Aranjuez.

Day 6, Saturday


After enjoying our last breakfast aboard, we will visit Aranjuez, the magnificent Royal Palace and its extensive gardens. Transfer by train to Madrid on for a guided panoramic tour of the city. End of trip after lunch.
