Is the connection between the flight and the train made at the Madrid airport?

No, the trains to/from your final destination leave/arrive from/to the train stations in the city, either Chamartín or Atocha. Therefore the rransfer between the airport and train station is the responsibility of the passenger, and can be made using the C-1 Commuter Trains serving the airport.

The ticket is free of charge if issued using the Commuter Trains Combo (CombinadoCercanías) code that appears on the “boarding pass” for the train.

What is the price of the train ticket?

The price of the train ticket to the final destination is included in the airfare. It is a single ticket covering the entire journey from origin to final destination.

If I purchase a flight ticket in Business class, in what class will I travel in Renfe?

Business class in this combo offer gives you access to Renfe's First Class or Tourist Plus.

What special services can I request on the train?

Iberia cannot offer special services for train journeys, only for the flight. The only special service included is for Persons with Reduced Mobility, which, in any case, must be requested directly from Renfe.

Is there assistance for wheelchairs and persons with reduced mobility on the train?

Yes, remember that if assistance is needed, you must arrange it with Renfe by calling 902 24 05 05 or going to any Atendo office in person. This service does not include transportation between the train station and airport (or vice versa), but the public transportation services connecting the station and airport are accessible.

At the airport, this service is provided by AENA.

And the unaccompanied minors service?

This service is not available with this type of combo ticket.

Can seats be reserved for the train portion?

It is not possible to reserve seats. Your seat will be assigned automatically when you obtain the document for boarding the train.

Does the punctuality commitment apply to these tickets?

The voluntary punctuality commitment does not apply.

The punctuality commitment required by law is applied:

If I bring excess luggage, how should I handle it?

For the flight, you can pay for excess luggage through the Iberia website or at the airport, although the website is recommended because it is more economical.
