What to see in Córdoba

In Córdoba, wherever you walk, wherever you wander, you will come across somewhere that is bursting with magic. Here are just a few places that are particularly worth a visit in Cordoba:

  • Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. The city's most characteristic monument and one of its most magical places. You won't know whether to admire its 1300, its 360 arches made of white and red stone, the light that filters through its stained glass windows or the blend of different artistic styles. And that's without mentioning the Patio de los Naranjos! A place packed with indescribable charm.
  • Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos. Another must-see in Cordoba. The Catholic Monarchs spent several years at this fortress. Inside its walls are remains dating back to Visigoth, Roman and Arab times.
  • Medina-Azahara. Located 8 km from Córdoba city centre, considered a World Heritage Site. This archaeological site was once the residential and administrative heart of the caliphate.
  • Torre de la Calahorra. Dating back to Arab times, it served to defend the city and is located at one end of the Roman Bridge. Cross the bridge at sunset and marvel at the views over the Guadalquivir River and the Mosque in the background.
