What to visit in L’Ecusson

L'Ecusson is a labyrinth of streets that lead to beautiful and curious places. This is the heart of Montpellier, its historic centre and most charming neighbourhood. The starting point of your visit to L'Ecusson is Place de la Comédie, a square that was once called "the egg square", because of its oval shape. This square is always busy, dominated by the Fountain of the Three Graces and the Ópera Comédie.

Likewise, you cannot miss Montpellier's Cathédrale Saint-Pierre, a must if you are walking around L'Ecusson. Built in the fourteenth century, visitors will be awed by the temple's dimensions.

Art lovers cannot miss Fabre Museum, which has a huge collection of over 800 works of art of European artists. The creations of great Italian, French, Spanish or Flemish masters are exhibited here.

In addition, this neighbourhood has its own Arc de Triomphe and is also the home of the charming Saint-Clément Aqueduct, which dates back to the eighteenth century.
