Although if you are interested in doing some sightseeing while enjoying a few days on the beach, its mediaeval structure, consisting of alleys and small whitewashed houses, mean Salobreña is the place for you. Its best beaches include:

  • Playa El Cambrón, also in Salobreña, does not have any type of facilities, nor a promenade. The nearest car park is 2 km from the beach. This place is particularly special if you want to get away from it all.
  • Playa de La Charca (Playa de Salomar). This beach is to the east of the Peñón de Salobreña and is one of the longest in the town. It is very popular with families due to its spaciousness and calm, child-safe waters.
  • Playa del Caletón. Located to the east of the Peñón de Salobreña, this is a more intimate, less crowded beach than the main beaches in town. The surrounding environment is rocky and offers great opportunities for some water sports such as snorkeling.
