Information on the refund of deposits for free passes

Consult all the information about the refund of deposits for your free 2025 and 2026 passes. You can also obtain more information by calling 91 919 15 67.

 

Refund of the deposit for the free pass corresponding to the second four-month period of 2025 for Cercanías (Commuter) Asturias and Cantabria

Please note that on 17 September 2025, the period begins for requesting a refund of the deposit for the second four-month period. You have one year to apply for the refund, until 31 August 2026.

Don't forget that until you have received your refund, you must keep the pass (QR for digital passes or TSC for physical passes) and the receipt or proof of purchase. These documents may be needed to process your refund or resolve any issues that may occur as part of the process.

  • If you paid by bank card
    If you paid by bank card, you will not have to do anything: the deposit will be refunded automatically between 17 and 30 September, provided that you have made a minimum of 16 trips and your travel pass is not included in the list of anti-fraud infractions.

If you have not received your refund by 30 September, you will need to visit a customer service point and fill in the Refund Form for your case to be reviewed.

  • If you paid in cash
    If you paid your deposit in cash, starting 17 September, you can request a refund at any point of sale. To do this, you must present the season ticket, your ID card and proof of purchase. In the event that the refund is not possible at the time due to any incident, you must fill in the Return Form with all your details. Our after-sales staff will review your case and respond to you, indicating whether or not you are entitled to a refund.

Refund of the deposit for the free pass corresponding to the first four-month period of 2026 for Cercanías (Commuter) Asturias and Cantabria

Please note that on 13 May 2026, the period begins for requesting a refund of the deposit for the first four-month period of 2026. You have one year to apply for the refund, until 30 April 2027.

Don't forget that until you have received your refund, you must keep the pass (QR for digital passes or TSC for physical passes) and the receipt or proof of purchase. These documents may be needed to process your refund or resolve any issues that may occur as part of the process.
 

  • If you paid by bank card
    If you paid by bank card, you will not have to do anything: the deposit will be refunded automatically between 13 and 31 May, provided that you have made a minimum of 16 trips and your travel pass is not included in the list of anti-fraud infractions.

If after 31 May you have not received the refund, you must go to a customer service point and fill out the Return Form so that we can review your case.

  • If you paid in cash
    If you paid your deposit in cash, starting 13 May, you can request a refund at any point of sale. To do this, you must present the season ticket, your ID card and proof of purchase. In the event that the refund is not possible at the time due to any incident, you must fill in the Return Form with all your details. Our after-sales staff will review your case and respond to you, indicating whether or not you are entitled to a refund.


Return of deposits for free 2025 four-month passes

If you have not yet applied for a refund of your 2025 pass deposits, remember that you have one year to request a refund once their validity period comes to an end.

  • 2nd four-month period of 2025 pass (May to August 2025, only for Cercanías Asturias and Cantabria). Deadline for applying for the refund of your deposit: August 31, 2026.
  • 3rd four-month period of 2025 pass (September to December 2025). Deadline for applying for the refund of your deposit: 31 December 2026.

We inform you that you can request the return of your deposit until April 30, 2024.

We also remind you that if you have not requested the refund of the deposit for your 2022 pass, you have until 31 December 2023 to claim it.

Please bear in mind that you must keep your digital or physical pass and the purchase ticket or receipt until your deposit for the pass has been refunded, since these are required to request the refund or to solve any incident that may occur throughout the process.

  • If you paid the deposit by credit card:

The deposit will be automatically returned between 9 and 20 May to the card with which you purchased the pass as long as you have made a minimum of 16 journeys and your pass is not included in the list of non-compliance with anti-fraud measures.

If you have not received the refund by 20 May, please visit a Customer Service point to fill in the Refund Form providing your details so that we can review your case.

  • If you paid the deposit in cash:

From 16 May onwards, you can request a refund by visiting any point of sale or Customer Service point. You must present your pass along with your DNI or NIF/NIE as well as any receipt or proof of purchase you have.

If the deposit cannot be refunded to you at the time due to an issue, you will be asked to fill in the Refund Form providing your details. Your request will be processed by our After-Sales staff and they will inform you whether you are entitled to a refund or not.

These conditions for the refund of your deposit do not apply to passes in ISO/magnetic stripe format purchased for Rodalies de Catalunya (Cercanías (Commuter) and Regional) and Metric Gauge services.
