• The project includes all sales channels (website, app, ticket offices, agencies, self-service machines) and passenger access systems (check-in, access to the club lounge room, etc.)
  • The new sales system will provide the necessary functions, ensure scalability, comply with the applicable European standards and facilitate the integration with other applications and third parties
  • The www.renfe.com sales channel will be fully transformed, benefitting the website's 5.6 million unique monthly users

Renfe will invest 164.1 million euros in a project aimed at updating and upgrading its ticket sales and reservation system, approved today by the company's Board of Directors.

In particular, two contracts will be awarded: a service contract for the design, development, maintenance and operation of Renfe's new ticket sales and reservation system, awarded to the Temporary Joint Venture Accenture y Evolutio Cloud Enable, for a total of 78.6 million euros; and another contract for the implementation, configuration and operation of a Passenger Service System (PSS), awarded to Sqills Products BV, for a total of 85.5 million euros

The aim of the project is to develop and maintain the sales channels (website, app, ticket offices, agencies, self-service machines, inspector app, etc.) and passenger access systems (check-in, access to the club lounge, etc.) using new cloud technologies.

These contracts will be awarded as part of the project for the implementation of new tools to improve passenger experience. The new sales system will provide the necessary functions, ensure scalability, comply with the applicable European standards and facilitate the integration with other applications and third parties.

Likewise, complementary modules will be developed with specific Renfe services or applications not included in the passenger management system (PSS), which are required for the sales system (user login, private passenger area, compensation control, fraud control, document control, invoices issued, etc.).
The new sales system will be launched in compliance with a series of specific design principles that will allow Renfe to focus on these upgrades, which will guarantee business continuity, without suffering interruptions in the service throughout the migration from the current to the new system.

These contracts will allow all sales to be processed via www.renfe.com, fully transforming the website to improve the overall passenger experience. The website currently has 5.6 million unique users per month and receives 11.5 million visits per month.
