The photographic exhibition "Ferroviarias" aims to honor all the women who have contributed to the development of the railway throughout its history. Organized by Renfe, the exhibition will travel for 60 days aboard an AVE Series 112 train across Spain, highlighting the crucial roles women have played in the company's evolution, ranging from administrative to mechanical positions.

Train drivers, ticket inspectors, station managers, the president, maintenance operators, railway engineers, electromechanics, train and station cleaning staff, planning and logistics technicians, customer service personnel, and ticket sales agents—all are represented in "Ferroviarias".

The train housing the exhibition will travel across routes such as Madrid-València, Madrid-Alicante, Madrid-Murcia, Madrid-Ourense, Madrid-León, Sevilla/Málaga-Zaragoza-Barcelona, and València-Burgos.

"Ferroviarias", made possible by the contribution of 220 images—many previously unpublished—from the historical archive of the Spanish Railways Foundation, offers a photographic journey through portraits and scenes reflecting the history and dedication of women at Renfe. With this exhibition, Renfe seeks to acknowledge their legacy and reaffirm their significance in the company's present and future.

Renfe, the Train of Culture

Over the past 20 years, Renfe, the train of culture, has organized more than 130 photographic exhibitions on high-speed, long-distance, medium-distance, and commuter trains. The goal is to highlight the company’s commitment to culture, art, sports, and tourism while promoting its long-distance and high-speed services across Spain.

Through these exhibitions, trains are transformed into artistic spaces, becoming moving galleries that contribute to cultural promotion, connecting a diverse and dynamic audience constantly on the move.

Social Responsibility

At Renfe, we have incorporated the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, approved by the United Nations in 2015, into our business strategy.

With this initiative, Renfe joins the ranks of socially responsible companies working towards real equality, integrating equal treatment and opportunities for both women and men.
