Renfe has updated the commercial conditions of the Spain Rail Pass (formerly known as the Renfe Spain Pass) and is presenting the new branding for this pass at Fitur in Madrid. It is aimed at tourists with permanent residence outside of Spain, enabling them to explore the country aboard Renfe trains in an economical, flexible, comfortable, and sustainable manner.
Spain once again broke its tourism record last year, welcoming 94 million foreign visitors, a 10% increase compared to 2023. The sector is expected to continue growing in 2025. Foreign tourists express high satisfaction with their trips to Spain, and 65% of them intend to return to the country.
The Spain Rail Pass simplifies travel logistics by eliminating the need to purchase multiple tickets and reservations. With a single pass, users can reach any destination easily and quickly. This pass offers the freedom to plan itineraries according to personal preferences, interests, and needs, covering a wide variety of routes and destinations.
The pass is personal and non-transferable, allowing passengers to manage their reservations through the website renfe.com, at physical and online travel agencies, or at station ticket offices, depending on the chosen number of trips (4, 6, 8, or 10 trips) on a selection of Renfe trains. Pass holders have six months from the date of purchase to take their first trip, and the pass is valid for one month from its first use.
Renfe offers competitive pricing for both adult and child passes, providing significant savings compared to purchasing individual tickets for each journey. Users can also choose between Standard and Comfort class for travel on AVE trains, catering to different budgets.
