Ethics and transparency are hallmarks of Renfe's identity.

We have equipped ourselves with various tools and policies to allow us manage our business ethically: a code of conduct, whistle-blowing channel, transparency portal, the World Tourism Organisation code of conduct, the United Nations Global Compact, and more.

Since 2005, we have been signatories to the United Nations Global Compact, an international initiative that aims to achieve the voluntary commitment of companies to social responsibility through the implementation of ten principles in the areas of human, labour, environmental and anti-corruption rights.

Since 2017, we have been adhered to the World Tourism Organisation's (UNWTO) Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. This code is an essential benchmark framework for responsible and sustainable tourism. Intended for governments, the travel industry, communities and tourists alike, it aims to help maximise the benefits of the sector while minimising its potentially negative impact on the environment, cultural heritage and communities around the world.
