Faster, simpler, more innovative.
Pay directly at the turnstiles using your bank card or your mobile phone with Cronos. Yes, yes, it's that easy! This new system allows you to pay for your one-way ticket using a contactless credit or debit card or your mobile phone payment system.
How does it work? Very simple. Each time you pay for one or more one-way tickets, the corresponding fare and the number of zones you have travelled through will be charged; you can check the corresponding charge on your bank account statement.
Request your Tarjeta Más Renfe & Tú card to travel. On Cercanías (Commuter) Madrid, you will need a card to carry most of the tickets you use. It is packed with advantages: you will earn more time and added comfort on your travels and, since this is a contactless card, simply bring it close to the boarding control reader to open the doors. It is reusable and rechargeable and has no expiry date.
Card issue time of up to 2 weeks. It may take longer, depending on the number of requests.
(*) Green Zone: A single price is established from any zone in the Madrid network using the C-9 line. This is €8.70 for a one-way ticket and €17.40 for a return ticket. In the case of passes, the price is for 7 zones.
You can purchase them at station ticket offices or Cercanías self-service machines. Remember that you have a maximum of two hours to start your journey after the purchase of the ticket.
One-way tickets may not be changed and can only be cancelled at ticket offices in stations within two hours of purchase, provided you have not used the ticket.

With the Pass, you can make as any number of trips as you wish during its validity by bus, metro and Cercanías. Choose the mode that interests you the most (30 days, annual...) and purchase your Public Transport Card to load your pass. You can top it up at the self-service machines in stations.
