Bicicletas
Travelling with your bike on Renfe is easier than ever. Just follow these instructions depending on the type of bike and train you will be travelling on!
- If you are travelling with a folding bike or non-electric scooter:
- Comparable to hand luggage. You can take one folding bike per person, as long as it is fully folded and the sum of its dimensions does not exceed 180 cm (height + length + width). Optional cover.
- Travelling with a folding bike is free of charge and you do not need to purchase an add-on, except on Avlo trains where purchasing the Additional luggage add-on is required.
- For greater ease, you can take your bicycle unfolded around the station, where you must fold it before entering the train and place it in the spaces intended for luggage. You don't need to use a cover, just take care not to damage or dirty other people's belongings.
Electric scooters and personal mobility vehicles
From 7 September 2026, you can travel on certain trains with your electric scooter, unicycle or other battery-powered personal mobility vehicle, provided it meets the conditions set out below.
Before travelling, check that your vehicle is equipped with:

If you are traveling by AVE, Euromed, Alvia, Intercity or Avant

The vehicle:
- It must not exceed 120 × 50 × 55 cm
- It must be fully folded and switched off before accessing the platform and for the duration of the journey.
- You must be able to handle it yourself without assistance.
- It must be placed in the spaces designated for luggage.
- It must not block corridors, doors, toilets or evacuation routes.
- It must be clean and properly conditioned to avoid causing damage or inconvenience.
- We recommend using a cover or carrying bag, although it is not mandatory if the scooter is clean and in proper condition.
- You do not need to reserve a specific seat, register the scooter or mention that you are transporting it when purchasing your ticket.
If you are travelling on AVLO
- The scooter is considered special luggage and you must purchase the additional baggage supplement. It must also comply with the conditions regarding dimensions, folding, switching off and storage indicated above.
If you are travelling on Cercanías or Media Distancia
