What does the Single Pass have to offer?

  • You can travel on all Media Distancia (Mid-distance) services for any origin/destination, as well as on the Regional Services of Catalonia declared a Public Service Obligation and on all Cercanías (Commuter) networks. It can also be used on Avant (mid-distance high-speed) services declared as a Public Service Obligation (A Coruña-Santiago-Ourense, Madrid-Salamanca, Murcia-Alicante and Barcelona-Tortosa, with the exception of Barcelona-Tarragona).
  • You can also access the regular road transport services under state jurisdiction and affiliated transport consortia.
  • You can make unlimited trips for 30 days from the start of its validity. For example, if you choose for your Single Pass to become valid from 25 January, it will be valid until 24 February, inclusive.
  • You can purchase it 30 days in advance. At the time of purchase you must select the start date you want.
  • There are two types of Single Pass:
    • Normal Single Pass, priced at €60 for 30 days.
    • Young Person and Child Single Pass, priced at €30 for 30 days and aimed at travellers born between 1 January 2000 and 31 December 2026.

How can I buy a Single Pass?

  • You can buy your Single Normal or Young Person/Child Pass at self-service machines and ticket offices at the stations. Also available at renfe.com. You must be a registered user (except for Rodalies de Catalunya regional trains, Media Distancia (Mid-distance) metric gauge trains and Cercanías (Commuter) trains), from 12 January 2026, and for all trips from 19 January 2026.
  • To purchase a Young Person/Child Single Pass, you will need a registration code provided by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. To do this, you will have to register on the website of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, at least 24 hours in advance. We will ask you for this code at the time of purchase of the pass.
  • Remember that only one Single Normal or Youth and Children Pass can be purchased per person, valid for the aforementioned services during its 30-day validity period.
  • If you buy your Single Pass via Media Distancia (Mid-distance) sales channels and want to travel on Cercanías (Commuter) trains, you must include it in your Renfe&Tú contactless card to validate the journeys. You can do this at the self-service machines or ticket offices of the Cercanías stations. Remember to have your PIN security code handy. You can reuse any Renfe&Tú contactless card if you already have one or buy a new one for €1.
  • If you have purchased the Single Pass at a Cercanías (Commuter) point of sale and want to travel on Media Distancia (Mid-distance) services, you must have a Media Distancia (Mid-distance) pass issued free of charge at ticket offices or at renfe.com by providing your PIN number.
  • If you have purchased the Single Pass via another transport operator, you will need to provide your ID card or identity document along with your PIN number for us to issue your pass to travel on Cercanías (Commuter) or Media Distancia (Mid-distance) at no cost.
  • Before traveling, it is necessary to book/validate your trip. You can do this in the following ways, depending on the service you're using:
    • On Media Distancia (Mid-distance) trains with reserved seating and in included Avant (mid-distance high-speed) connections, you can book via the Renfe app, at renfe.com, ticket offices, self-service machines and over the phone. Please remember that you can only book a maximum of 4 trips per day, either one way or return. You can cancel your reservation free of charge up to 60 minutes before the departure time of the trip.
    • On Cercanías (Commuter), Regional Services of Catalonia and Media Distancia Ancho Métrico, you must validate your journey at the access controls or validators at the stations.
