Remember that on AVE, Long Distance and Avant trains, children under 14 years of age must travel accompanied by an adult or using the Unaccompanied Minors Service on trains that have this option.

Child travel service. How does it work?

Children can also travel, even if you can't go with them.

For these occasions, we offer an unaccompanied child travel service, allowing children between the ages of 6 and 13 (inclusive) to travel on their own without an adult, under the supervision of on-board staff.

You can request this service when purchasing the ticket at the ticket offices in stations, sales offices and travel agencies, at least 48 hours before the train departure time.

Please note that this service is offered for Premium and Elige Comfort passengers on most AVE (high-speed) and Larga Distancia (Long Distance) trains, with a limit of 4 minors per train and provided that the arrival at destination is no later than 10:00 p.m.

On the day of the trip, you must arrive at the station at least 45 minutes in advance since the mother, father or legal representative must fill in a form so that we can provide the service with all the guarantees.

Unaccompanied minors travelling on their own may not purchase any products onboard without the express authorisation to do so. If you want a children's or other menu offered by Renfe, you can request it at the time you purchase your ticket.

Tickets with the service for children travelling alone do not include the child fare discount.
