In accordance with the terms of Royal Decree 1575/1989 of 22 December, which approves the Regulations on Mandatory Insurance for Passengers, Renfe Viajeros S.M.E, S.A. has taken out with EVEREST INSURANCE (IRELAND) DAC (Spanish branch), the mandatory accident insurance for passengers, with a view to ensuring that passengers or ticket holders receive compensation in the event of accident and/or bodily harm when travelling on RENFE's trains, provided that the circumstances stated in the Regulation occur.
This coverage has been extended to those accidents suffered by passengers in stations managed by Renfe Viajeros S.M.E, S.A.

In the different options, travellers can complete the Accident Notification Forms (FNAV) depending on the date of the accident. AIG Europe S.A. (Spanish branch) is the insurance company that will manage all accidents occurring before 31/12/2024. Moreover, EVEREST INSURANCE (IRELAND) DAC (Spanish branch) is the insurance company that will manage all accidents occurring from 01/01/2025 onwards.
Both companies are responsible for processing the corresponding Compulsory Travellers Insurance claims.
