Christmas in Bilbao with children: Plans to do as a family

Christmas Market

Bilbao's traditional Christmas market moves to the beautiful surroundings of Doña Casilda Iturrizar Park, right next to the illuminated arch. Decorated wooden booths will be installed there, with gastronomy products, Christmas decorations and gifts. Children will enjoy the fair atmosphere, lights and sounds in a green environment.

Artisan market

A few meters away, in the traditional surroundings of the Arenal Pier, the Christmas Craft Fair, Gabonart, is held. Here you will find local craft stalls: Ceramics, wood, textiles... all made with care. Ideal for children to see how unique pieces are created and to get special Christmas gifts.

Amusement Fair / Ice Rink

During the holidays, Bilbao usually installs an outdoor ice rink in central areas such as the Arenal or Ripa Pier, along with artificial snow slides and spaces for children. Roller coasters, Ferris wheels and lots of laughter for families.

Three Kings Parade

On 5 January, the streets of Bilbao are filled with wonder as the Three Wise Men parade along the Gran Vía and the city centre, throwing sweets and greeting children. It is one of the most magical times of the year.
