What is the Galicia Rail Pass?

With a price of only €25 (€10 for children under 14), you can take an unlimited number of train trips across Galicia for three days on a row. You can take all the trips you want on Galician Larga Distancia (Long Distance), Avant (mid-distance high-speed), Media Distancia (Mid-distance) and Metric Gauge trains and discover everything Galicia has to offer while travelling in the most sustainable way.

Who is eligible for the Galicia Rail Pass?

This pass is offered to:

  • travellers arriving at Santiago and obtaining the "Compostela certificate", or
  • travellers arriving at Galicia on a Larga Distancia (Long Distance) train with a ticket worth €20 or more, or
  • travellers with a ticket for any Galicia Tourist Train

Any of these documents (tickets or Compostela certificate) must have been obtained within a maximum of 30 days prior to requesting the pass.

What does the Galicia Rail Pass offer?

  • Unlimited train travel for three days on a row across Galicia.
  • You can travel with your Galicia Rail Pass on all Larga Distancia (Long Distance), regional (Media Distancia (Mid-distance) and Avant (mid-distance high-speed) trains) and Metric Gauge trains across the Autonomous Community of Galicia, in either a Standard or Tourist seat. Excluding the tourist trains.
  • This is a personal, named and non-transferable pass.
  • The price of the Galicia Rail Pass is €25 for adults and €10 for children under 14 years of age.
  • You can buy your pass at the ticket offices in stations (except for stations with Metric Gauge trains operating).
  • The Galicia Rail Pass is valid for 7 days from the time of purchase and you can use it for three days on a row after its validation.
  • You can use the pass during weekends (Friday to Sunday), long weekends and holidays. During the summer season, from 1 June to 30 September (both included), it will be valid during the seven days of the week.
  • The pass does not allow changes. It can be cancelled at no cost at the ticket offices in stations except for stations with Metric Gauge trains operating), provided that it has not been used.
  • The discount cannot be used in conjunction with others, except for Spanish Large Family discounts.

To be able to travel, you must previously validate your trip, i.e., purchase the ticket for the corresponding route. You can purchase it at the ticket offices in stations.

The tickets for Metric Gauge trains can only be validated at the ticket offices of stations with Metric Gauge trains operating. If the ticket cannot be validated with these methods, request validation from the crew on the train after boarding.
